Five Unique Places to Network

Networking does not mean you have to buy the next ticket to a networking event. Networking can happen anywhere at anytime with anyone; as long as you are ready to make a connection with someone. Here is 5 unique places to network.

  1. Family Functions: All summer long family and friends are having unofficial networking parties. Meaning they are having a gatherings of some sort, game night, barbeques, baby showers, family reunions, etc. Come prepare to mingle with strangers and family members that can become potential clients, customers, etc. Have your business cards and your 15 second spill about what you do, you never know who among your family and friends will want in your product or service.
  2. Hairstylist: Everyone knows that the salon is the place for gossip, let the next buzz be about your product or services. Tell your hairstylist what you do and ask can you leave some business cards with her, you never know the next person in her chair my need your service.
  3. Local Business: Everyone has stores in the community they go to on a regular, now it is time to get to know the business owners and staff and let them get to know you. In friendly conversation while ringing up your groceries or doing laundry you can talk about your business and give out business cards and make a new connection.
  4. The Gym: The Gym is used all the time to meet new people, you already have something in common with them. In your conversation about work-out tips let people know that you also have a business you think they would be interested in.
  5. Your Neighbors: Get friendly with the nosy neighbors and tell them all your business, your money-making business, and see how rumors spread around about your business.

  1. Hello,

I trust this message finds you well.

I’ve just had the fortune of being awarded the Liebster Award blog and as part of the protocol I’ve nominated/awarded 10 other blogs as well.

The Liebster Award is a process where a blogger is ‘tagged’ by a blogger who has received the award and then if they accept it writes a post. In that post they let readers get to know them a bit better with:
    1) a number of personal facts (I’ve chosen 10 but it’s not arbitrary),
    2) answer the questions posted to them in the nominators post,
    3) propose a list of questions themselves to their own awardees
    4) finally list the awardees 10-11 who the award will be passed to.

As yours is a blog I enjoy and admire I’ve ‘tagged’ you as one of my awardees. I hope you don’t mind and whether you join in the game or not is your choice. I’ve displayed your banner or photo(and the banners/photos of the other awardees) on my award post in order to promote your blog and give readers a visual concept before clicking. If for any reason that is unacceptable to you please let me know and I will remove it or change it. Some of you didn’t have a header image.

Full details can be found in my post here:

Thank you for putting together such a great blog that interests and inspires.

    Wishing you the Best,

    (Scully of

  2. You know the gym would be a great place to network actually. It is amazing how many people “talk” a lot at the gym isn’t it? 🙂
